January

The year got off to a rousing start with our annual Installation of New Officers Dinner on January 14,2010.  Col "Smitty" Smith took over as our new President with Lt Col Bob Horton serving as 1st Vice President and Maj Jim McConeghy as 2nd Vice President.  Lt Col John Camp continues to serve ably as our Sec/Treas. 

Our guest speaker was Col Jeff Benton author of several books and currently serving on the faculty of The Montgomery Academy.  Jeff gave us a Traveller's View of Antebellum Montgomery.

February

February's well attended luncheon featured Lt Col Jim Walker, Director of the Alabama Department of Homeland Security.

April

April's luncheon was well attended.  Our guest speaker was Col Greg Camp, USA (ret), Executive Vice President of the National Infantry Foundation.  Col Camp talked about the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center that opened in Columbus, Georgia on June 19, 2009.

May

May featured our annual BBQ at Hopper Lodge on Maxwell AFB.  Over 120 members had a great time and enjoyed some outstanding BBQ.

June

June was our annual scholarship luncheon.  This year's winner was Zach Pinter who owned one of the highest GPA's our committee had ever seen.  The guest speaker was Col Hicks, Alabama National Guard Chaplain.

July 2010

Our luncheon Guest Speaker was Ms Meg Josephs, Chief of Staff of Congressman Bobby Bright's Washington office, filled in for the Congressman.

November 2010

Our November meeting was truely special as we saluted 58 members of our Chapter who had served during the Korean War era. Pictured below is our President, Col Smith with two Korean War heros: Lt Gen "Chick" Cleveland a Korean War "Ace" and recipient of the Silver Star with our guest speaker former Montgomery Mayor Emory Folmer.  Mayor Folmer was also the recipient of the Silver Star for his actions as an Army officer in the Korean War.

MAC MOAA Members also participated in Montgomery's Veterans Salute Parade.
